Madz Alexander
Madz Alexander is a performer, choreographer, competition judge, and educator. Madz’s passion for dance started in Roanoke, Va where she began as a competitive dancer focusing on styles such as Jazz, Contemporary, Ballet, Tap, and Hip-Hop. Her passions led her to having successful seasons with award winning performances. After grade school, Madz furthered her knowledge at Radford University. She learned about connection to self and others through dance, the history of dance, how to navigate basic and advanced techniques, but her favorite lessons were always about the creation process. In 2023, Madz graduated with her BFA in Dance as an honor graduate (Summa Cum Laude). After graduation, Madz moved to New York City to further her passions and meet other artists. Madz has always loved performing and sharing her joy of dance with the audience. With dance company “Pretty Big Movement”, she performed in two showcases, danced in New York Fashion Week, and was featured in the New York Times article “Dancers of All Sizes Hope Change Follows a Discrimination Ban”. Madz has also found a love for teaching and educating the minds of New York City. She is a currently a dance instructor at Free Mind, the Studio where she teaches Contemporary, Jazz, Ballet, and Pop-Diva fusion classes. Madz’s all time favorite accomplishment is becoming the Artistic Director of Free Mind, the Dance Company. Madz's goal is to be the role model she needed as a young dancer.
