Sama Bajonero-Moreno
Sama is a chicana dancer, choreographer, and educator based in Brooklyn. Born in Mexico City where she began training at La Casa de La Cultura in ballet, and jazz while still dancing cumbia socially at the age of three. Later immigrated to Dallas,TX in 2010 where she performed in musicals and danced at the King & Robert’s dance studio, as well as the Fort Worth Syndicate.
After moving to New York in 2019, she graduated from The New York Conservatory for Dramatic Arts as a student of the Musical Theatre program, focusing on Contemporary dance, Screen acting and Musical Theatre. In 2021 she started dancing alongside Keeping People Connected, a dance company spotlighting marginalized stories, appearing on stage at the Episcopal Actors Theatre, and The Chelsea Factory. In late 2021 she was immersed in the House community and began training with Ladies of Hiphop focusing on freestyle. Work extending from stage to screen with the same intention of representing her community in every way.
Through class she intends want to make dance accessible for anyone who has a soul and a body.
